Soneva Fushi, Maldives - July 3, 2024 : Manta Air and Soneva Fushi have successfully conducted the first ever full-scale emergency response exercise at the water aerodrome in Maldives. The exercise conducted near Soneva Fushi, was designed to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of emergency response teams during incidents relating to seaplane operations. This exercise, conducted this afternoon, involved key stakeholders in the Baa Atoll region, including Baa Atoll Hospital, Maldives Police Service in B. Eydhafushi, along with dedicated response teams from both Soneva Fushi and Manta Air.
The comprehensive drill involved a simulated emergency scenario that tested the effectiveness of communication and coordination between the different agencies and stakeholders. The exercise also provided an opportunity for the participating teams to practice their response procedures and improve their processes in handling emergency situations.
Affected passengers in the simulated incident were treated both at Soneva Fushi and Baa Atoll Hospital, ensuring a comprehensive test of medical response capabilities. The exercise, which concluded successfully at 17:59, demonstrated the effectiveness of communication and coordination between the various agencies and stakeholders involved.
